EPISODE 34
In fact, soon after, in ep34, her action saves directly Daisuke’s life; interposing herself between Daisuke and Gauss in the forest, Hikaru convinces the latter to not kill Daisuke. TCT 1 had months ago an amazing discussion in this forum (Gerdha's forum, obv) about ep34, so I would not repeat here all the considerations made then about the particular narrative structure of this episode and the literature references we can find in it, but I would like to stress again that, in my opinion, this episode represents another example of a tricky scriptwriting method to hide its true meaning. Shozo Uehara is the scriptwriter of ep34, and we should take this information in consideration analysing it. Here is the start of the re-negotiation of the deal Daisuke made with Hikaru in ep27: she wants to help him personally, to be at his side as a pure psychological support is not more enough for her. But the first tentative does not give the expected results, and for more Daisuke seems to be all but enthusiast for Hikaru’s initiative. It could seem at first sight it’s a consequence of a misogynist personality, but it’s absolutely not true. We are going to be told the real reason of his approach in ep37 and ep39, but since now we receive anyway an important hint about the ongoing situation: like for all human relationships (and particularly when love feelings are involved) sometime a “re-negotiation process” becomes necessary, and for sure Hikaru has taken the initiative for what her relationship with Daisuke is concerned. Given the strong personalities involved, Grendizer anime viewers are going to see some major news soon. And as Grendizer is not a “standard” story, it will be something never seen before. Well, as a matter of fact, after 35 years we can say it’s something nobody has been able to see in any robotic anime even later.
